We aim to offer access to high quality care and education to individual children irrespective of their gender, abilities or cultural background. Children will have access to a wide range of toys, games and equipment appropriate to their age and stage of development.
We aim to provide a welcome and appropriate learning opportunities for all children. Children with special needs, like all other children, are admitted to the nursery after consultation between parents, nursery leader and the Special Education Needs Co-ordinator (ALNCO).
Our ALNCO has completed the Elklan (Speech and Language) qualification.
We recognise that in order to function as members of society, a child must learn to abide by the socially accepted rules of that society.
All behaviour is learned, both appropriate and inappropriate. We aim to treat other staff and children in a polite, respectful, positive manner. In this way it is hoped that the children will learn naturally, methods of dealing with each other that are socially appropriate.
Where necessary a Behaviour Modification Programme will be instigated after consultation with staff, parents and the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (ALNCO).
